Dear Loveday and other great Queens, N.Y. boutiques (Kristees Boutique, especially),
I love you. You’re amazing. You’re trying and succeeding in making Queens a better borough. But your websites are always less than impressive, if they work at all. I want to show everyone the amazing merchandise you offer, and I want to boast about your ability to select fantastic vintage, which you keep reasonably priced. But relying on Myspace accounts suck, for the most part. Please, please do something with your sites. Need inspiration? Check out Lola’s Boutique in Bay Ridge’s blog and site.
Now, for the important stuff.
Loveday 31 has been around since 2005 and stands as one of Queens’ superpowers when it comes to vintage shopping. In addition to carrying killer jewelry and an interesting selection of colorful belts, the shop’s owner chooses pieces based on how pretty they are, NOT how popular the label. Expect to find ladylike party dresses, unique tunics, street-smart jackets and skirts, and interesting aforementioned accessories.
Loveday 31 is located at 33-06 31st Ave, Astoria. (718) 728-4057. Store hours are Mon-Sat 12 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. until 7 p.m., but do yourself a favor and call ahead of time. I’ve popped over to the shop at least twice during “business hours” to find it closed.
